Class: Battle Bots
Instructor: All About Learning, Inc.
Description: Students, ages 8 and up, learn to design
and build their own motorized battle
vehicles, that battle demolition derby-style, and the
class is capped off with a final project.
Using principles of simple and complex machines,
gearing, and mechanical advantage, students
will try to flip, push, or smash their opponent's
battle vehicles. Brain over brawn through
applied physics. Lessons demonstrate the use of
mechanical lifts, nets, drills, ramps and more to
disable or overcome other bots. Students may outgrow
their love of LEGOs (don't count on it),
but this insight into physics will stay with them
forever. Working with partners, students will
cooperatively build and modify machines, exhibiting
basic engineering principles.

Description: Open to instrumentalists of all abilities

Description: This course is designed to bring musicians
together and expose them to
performance in a small ensemble environment. Chamber
music offers one of the greatest
educational experiences as well as the most gratifying
musical experiences for musicians young
and old. These ensembles can include a wide variety of
instruments. Some common ensembles
include the string quartet (two violins, viola, and
cello), piano trio ( violin, cello and piano),
piano duo, and woodwind quartet (flute, oboe, clarinet
and bassoon). However, duos, trios,
quartets, and quintets can be formed by any string
instruments, woodwinds or the piano.

Description: Elements of study include the keyboard
clefs, line and space notes, notes in the
treble clef, notes in the bass clef, note and rest
values, common terms and signs, sharps, flats,
naturals, the grand staff, simple time, ledger lines,
note stems, chromatic and diatonic
semitones, perfect and major intervals, Italian terms,
whole tones, key signatures, major scales,
harmonic and melodic minor scales, writing at the
octave, analysis and melody writing,
identifying the key of a melody, dominant and
subdominant triads, and intervals using a key
signature. $30 material fee due at first class.

writing at the octave, Italian terms, analysis,

correcting errors, Italian terms and signs,
